Oskar Bak, was the first Polish player to join Opole HK in it’s inaugural season of 2020-2021, and Friday morning Oskar re-signed to stay in his home town of Opole for the upcoming season.
“I personally signed Oskar last season, and I was very happy to re-sign him on Friday.” Said Opole HK Owner/General Manager Joseph Kolodziej “Oskar is arguably one of the top ten U-20 defensemen in Poland, and he was a great team player last season when asked to play a more defensive role. This season, we are just going to let him go offensively and let him be creative.”
“I have heard a lot about Oskar, and I have watched a lot of game film from last season.” Said Opole HK Head Coach Brad Zangs “In the systems we will run this year, he will have every opportunity to grow as a player. It’s our goal as a coaching staff to have Oskar ready to make the jump to the professional Polish Hockey League after this season. IF all goes as planned we expect him to be ready and to contribute as a pro in 2022-2023.”
Opole HK is looking for select players to fill openings in the 2021-2022 roster.
Playing in the MHL in Poland, the highest level junior league in the country, and joining the European University Hockey League, to add more competition, Opole HK is looking for players interested in University and Professional hockey opportunities.
Opole HK, played the 2020-2021 season without any interruptions in training on or off the ice due to the pandemic. All regular season games were played and additional “friendly” games against MHL teams and the Polish U-20 National Team were also played.
In 2021-2022 Opole HK will face off against teams from Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Romania, Germany and Latvia. There is simply no better opportunity to gain international exposure to scouts at every level.
