Maybe next year they up the stakes a bit and make the loser get a tattoo of the other teams logo? Could make things interesting.

If politicians didn’t make a friendly bet on social media, did the playoff series even happen?

Evidently, the seven-game epic series between the Habs and Leafs was very much real, as evidenced by a tweet posted to Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s Twitter account.

Ford paid his debt to Quebec Premier François Legault by wearing a signed Guy Lafleur Montreal Canadiens jersey even though it “kills (him) to put this jersey on.” The jersey was gifted to Ford by Legault.

Carey Price, the Canadiens’ best player throughout the series, gets a shoutout from Ford, saying that the Canadiens should “thank God you got that Price, one of the best goalies in the world.”

Ford goes on to say that he hopes the Habs win the Stanley Cup, but quickly realizes that there is still another Canadian team in the running, as the Canadiens will take on the Winnipeg Jets in the second round of the playoffs.

Legault responded to Ford’s tweet with “He’s a man of his word. Thanks, Doug!”

All in all, the video is incredibly sweet and clearly shows the affinity Ford has for his pal François.
