Last weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix Historique was a resounding success, with the classic event fulfilling the long-awaited expectations of fans and participants alike.
Last year’s cancellation due to COVID-19 left everyone craving for some long overdue vintage action in the Principality, while the race weekend was also an opportunity for the Automobile Club de Monaco’s many marshals to warm up for Formula 1’s equally belated return to Monte-Carlo next month.
The ACM released on Monday its official film of the event highlighting the greatest moments of this year’s edition, and we couldn’t resist passing it on here on our website for everyone to enjoy.
Sunday’s ‘plat de résistance’ was the event for F1 cars built between 1973 and 1976 that featured a titanic battle between Jean Alesi at the wheel of Niki Lauda’s 1974 Ferrari B3 and the Lotus 77 of Marco Werner.
The two war veterans are featured in the superb shot hereabove by photographer Joris Clerc.
But there were so many other scraps and tussles on Sunday showcasing the vast and colorful array of outstanding machinery covering over seven decades of motorsport.
So, sit back and check out the official film of the 2021 Grand Prix de Monaco Historique.
