Game notes: Tri-Valley is appearing in its 10th straight District 11 Class A final. Dawgs have won past three Class A titles and 14 District 11 crowns overall since 1978 (AA: 1979, 1985, 1995, 1996; A: 1999, 2000, 2005, 2006, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019). … Rematch of 2019 title game, won 2-1 by Tri-Valley. … Nativity is seeking its first-ever District 11 baseball title. Hilltoppers have lost in district final in 2019 and 2011, both times to Tri-Valley. … Tri-Valley won both of the Schuylkill League Division II regular-season meetings between the squads, winning 16-3 on April 16 in Pottsville and 2-1 on May 12 in Hegins. In first meeting, Dawgs overcame an early 3-0 deficit by scoring 16 runs over last four innings. Wetzel and Herb each had three hits. In second meeting, Wetzel’s two-out RBI single in the fifth broke a 1-1 deadlock. Nativity pitching ace Kuperavage hasn’t faced Tri-Valley yet this season.
